Sustainable Christmas Trees: The Best Way to Celebrate the Season

Christmas trees are a time-honored tradition for many people around the world. But did you know that the traditional Christmas tree has a large carbon footprint? But fortunately there is a more environmentally friendly alternative: Sustainable natural Christmas trees from Green Team

Producing a Christmas tree "costs" 10 kilograms of carbon dioxide, the equivalent of two steaks. However, the tree also absorbs about 18 kilograms of carbon dioxide as it grows.

The transportation of trees is of course a big problem. First, we at Green Team sell locally produced trees wherever possible. From 2021, we will also partner with DHL to provide climate-neutral transport solutions.

We closely monitor and measure our carbon dioxide emissions, and starting in 2021, we have shifted our electricity to sustainable energy sources such as wind and solar.

By 2024, with the exception of work vehicles, tractors and other machines, our fleet will be converted to electric vehicles. We also encourage carpooling wherever possible and are constantly looking for other related initiatives.

Our work on sustainability is not limited to our production, transportation and more. It affects all parts of our organization, including our executive branch, and it works to minimize impact and protect our environment.

This means, for example, that there is no plastic in office supplies and that recycled paper is used. Then we absolutely have to print something, which we rarely do because we try to stick to the principle of not printing.

The benefits of sustainable Christmas trees: from protecting the environment to supporting local businesses.

Sustainable Christmas trees are an eco-friendly and responsible choice for celebrating the holiday season. Here are just a few of the many benefits of choosing a sustainable tree:

  1. Sustainable Christmas trees help to preserve natural habitats.
  2. They have a smaller carbon footprint than traditional trees.
  3. They can be reused or recycled, which helps to reduce waste.
  4. By choosing a sustainable tree, you are supporting local farmers and businesses.
  5. Sustainable trees are a renewable resource.

No matter what your reasons are for choosing a sustainable Christmas tree, you can be sure you're making a positive impact on the environment.

So this holiday season, make the switch to a sustainable tree and celebrate the season in the best way possible!
